He's pushing, with varying degreees of success for state legislation. This article focuses on a push in Wild West Nevada for a modest bill to require criminal background checks on private purchases of firearms — including at gunshows and on the Internet — as well as by licensed dealers. It's simple common sense. Most U.S. citizens support the idea. If it's not a good idea, you have to ask why even licensed dealers must perform the checks. We know they have prevented tens of thousands of gun sales to criminals.
