Get a feel for days gone by at the “Works in Wood: A Folk Art Sampler"exhibition at the Rogers Historical Museum that opens Saturday, July 27.

The show includes work from the museum's collection by Roy Harris, the so-called "ol whittler" who in the 1960s displayed his works at Frost’s High Sky Inn motor court on a county road between Springdale and War Eagle. It includes other works as well, such as canes, musical instruments, wooden toys, hand-painted signs, folk marquetry by Henry Tribble of Rogers and a cigar store Indian figure.

The exhibition runs through Sept. 28. The museum will hold a Folk Art Family Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 21, with demonstrations and hands-on workshops in weaving, seed art, and other folk crafts. Admission is free. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday in the Rogers Historic District.
