Cissy Rucker, director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, says a three-member search committee has come up with four potential locations for a new state veterans home, to replace the one closed in Little Rock.
She's going to send me the detailed proposals from the four locations —Benton, Jacksonville, Russellville and Chaffee Crossing. I'll post links when I have them.
The plan won't go forward until the state has assurances on an $18 million federal contribution to the home's cost.
The task force will visit the sites Aug. 19 and 21.
