Trivial point, but worth remembering as Sen. Jason "Elmer Gantry" Rapert spews his fantastically certain religious/political dogma on Twitter and everywhere else on his way to Congress, U.S. Senate, president or who knows what.
Rapert trashed opponent Linda Tyler for an affront to "Conway values" when she finally conceded on a TV interview show Rapert dodged that despite torn feelings she'd vote for medical marijuana in part because of what she knew about the relief it offered sick people.
About those Faulkner County values:
Rapert won his election in the county 54.3 to 45.7% (Tyler beat him in the small part of the district in Perry County, 51.8-48.2.)
The marijuana initiative failed in Faulkner 48.7% FOR and 51.3% AGAINST
Maybe that's the explanation. Maybe a chunk of Rapert voters were too high to know who they were voting for. He looks a little like Chong. (Noted: Rapert's district is only a part of Faulkner County. I don't have a breakdown matching his precincts on the pot vote, but Senate races in other parts of the county went even stronger for other Republicans.)
With some tweaks, medical marijuana should pass Arkansas the next time it's on the ballot.
